About The Position

As the Chief of Staff, you will drive operational excellence and support the strategic success of a high-impact portfolio that is integral to how Capital One grows and protects its business. This portfolio includes two critical enterprise platforms: Prometheus Financial Core (PFC), which enables partners to innovate and launch new financial products seamlessly, and Enterprise Credit Bureau Reporting (eCBR), which ensures accurate, compliant reporting of consumer data to national credit bureaus. This role provides unparalleled visibility into the tech strategy that fuels our competitive edge and foundational stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in project management, process management, or program management
  • At least 3 years of experience managing executive level stakeholders across multiple business units
  • At least 3 years of experience partnering with engineering and product teams

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 6+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy development
  • 3+ years of experience in budgeting and labor strategy

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Programs: In partnership with key stakeholders, lead the design and implementation of short- and long-term strategic programs that advance organizational growth.
  • Executive Thought Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to senior leadership, guiding the day-to-day operations and long-term management of the organization.
  • Resource & Financial Planning: Orchestrate organizational strategic planning, including financial and resource allocation, in close collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Tech & AI Savviness: Leverage a strong command of current technologies, including AI, to drive operational efficiency and modernization.
  • Roadmap & Prioritization: Masterfully manage delivery roadmaps and prioritization; proactively identify and resolve cross-tower dependencies and impediments.
  • Matrixed Collaboration: Influence and align matrixed stakeholder teams to cohesively execute organizational priorities and foster a culture of open exchange.
  • Change Management: Drive organizational change initiatives and operational excellence, ensuring new processes enable sustained success.
  • Feasibility & Incubation: Assess the feasibility of emerging projects in partnership with leadership and establish robust, agile implementation plans.
  • Executive Presence & Communication: Demonstrate elite oral, written, and presentation skills to seamlessly communicate impact across diverse teams and senior leadership.
  • Brand Amplification: Partner with communications teams to elevate the Line of Business brand, highlighting the measurable impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Constructive Friction: Champion innovative or unpopular ideas courageously, challenging senior leaders when necessary to drive the best business outcomes.
  • Autonomous Navigation: Operate with high autonomy on complex, sensitive assignments; quickly master new topics and navigate corporate matrices using exceptional business judgment, negotiation, and mediation skills.
