The Director will be responsible for planning, managing, developing, and evaluating educational and occupational training programs, including workforce development, personal or professional development, and company/industry-specific training, while ensuring compliance with industry standards, federal and state laws, and guidelines from governing agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, promote, implement, deliver, and monitor occupational advanced training opportunities throughout the service area.
  • Conduct training needs analyses, develop and present proposals, secure resources to address identified needs, and lead the department in securing training contracts through direct interface with companies.
  • Coordinate training delivery with area organizations to assist in making those organizations more effective and efficient through the development and delivery of instructional classroom and/or hands-on training with qualified instructors to meet market needs through consultative transactions with companies to achieve personnel and organizational growth.
  • Aid in writing contracts, grants, and reports necessary to meet the programmatic strategic plan.
  • Assess programs and design and implement policy or content changes to improve student learning and program relevancy, work towards departmental student success goals, and maintain compliance with accrediting bodies.
  • Identify and promote immediate and long-range training requirements in the service area by having frequent contact with representatives from business, industry, and the community, regularly meeting with or serving on committees with representatives from business, industry, and the community to keep courses consistent with current technology, laws, regulations, and policies, including creating advisory committees as necessary, and marketing the College’s Corporate and Community Education (CCE) programs and services.
  • Recruit and manage the retrainSC and Apprenticeship Carolina opportunities with area companies.
  • Recruit and provide supervisory leadership for staff and faculty involved in the coordination and delivery of training in the service area, cultivating a learning environment that promotes continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Develop and manage the annual revenue and expense budgets for the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
