About The Position

As the Director, Cash Management, you will champion CIBC’s vision of being “The Leader in Client Relationships,” and support achievement of goals by understanding and staying abreast of changes in client’s industries, businesses, and objectives as they relate to the treasury/cash management function. This will be a senior sales leadership role responsible for team leadership, client acquisition, and revenue growth. You will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the team, actively contributing to the successful growth and profitability of the client relationship by monitoring and managing cash management aspects applies leadership skills and technical expertise to leverage the appropriate cash management product and service solutions to drive and sustain long term, mutually beneficial relationships. You will exercise a high degree of independent judgement to oversee the origination, structuring, negotiating, and documenting of cash management product solution sets for the most complex or high value clients and prospects, ensuring complete client understanding of product features, functionality, terms, pricing, and compliance with all document requirements. You will provide subject matter expertise to ensure that clients’ day-to-day banking needs are being met at the highest level, applying expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure that cash management solutions are designed, installed, and delivered against this standard. Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in a commercial banking relationship management and/or sales position, preferably in a treasury/cash management role.
  • Previous experience dealing with commercial or large corporate clients that involve high levels of Cash Management/Treasury complexity.
  • Strong understanding of credit and credit risk concepts to understand, articulate, and comply with bank standards as it relates to cash management products.
  • Understand business and financial concepts to effectively articulate the cash management value proposition, as it relates to the impact on financial statements.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong sales discipline with evidence of past success.
  • Well-developed client and relationship management skills.
  • Strong command of software such as Excel and PowerPoint and MS Office Suite.

  • Apply leadership skills and technical expertise to leverage the appropriate cash management product and service solutions to drive and sustain long term, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Oversee the origination, structuring, negotiating, and documenting of cash management product solution sets for the most complex or high value clients and prospects, ensuring complete client understanding of product features, functionality, terms, pricing, and compliance with all document requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure that clients’ day-to-day banking needs are being met at the highest level, applying expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure that cash management solutions are designed, installed, and delivered against this standard.
  • Proactively assess your clients’ needs and propose solutions to deliver to meet those needs.
  • Provide continued partnership and support to your clients through understanding their goals and objectives.
  • Proactively and quickly respond to client inquiries, new opportunities, and market changes.
  • Provide leadership to a high performing sales Cash Management team featuring Senior Managers, Managers and Associates based in British Columbia Canada.
  • Mentor and coach staff formally and informally through collaborative teamwork both within and across teams.
  • Design and implement short- and long-term sales strategies, pipeline discipline, and revenue delivery, to meet business growth and revenue targets.
  • Responsible for the growth of the Cash Management portfolio based on established guidelines, and overall National strategy.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements/contracts with clients.
  • Ensure adequate profitability thresholds are met.
  • Responsible for proactively acquiring new clients and expanding existing relationships to drive business results.
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners and develop a robust network of Centres of Influence (COIs) to generate opportunities, foster connections, and deliver bottom line results.
  • Leverage CIBC’s wide range of business solutions to create a comprehensive sales plan, understand your local market, and increase referrals, ensuring satisfied and loyal clients while contributing to market growth and business development.
  • Gather, maintain and distribute competitive market feedback on products and pricing.
