About The Position

The primary role of the Director of Business Operations is to synchronize the programmatic and development efforts across the organization. The Director of Business Operations will translate executive guidance into synchronized action across surgical services to develop and sustain organizational processes and create more efficient program management and delivery of services. Provides administrative oversight and direction of surgical services, including but not limited to, business growth, strategic planning, marketing, financial stewardship, inventory workflow and daily operational activities. Ensures all areas operate within the established policies, procedures, and strategic objectives of Ellis Medicine and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years pervious management experience and/or hospital management required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of a strategic and operational performance plan focused on financial improvement, consolidation, and right-sizing.
  • Building infrastructure, managing growth, team-building, developing operational efficiencies, establishing best practices, and implementing key measurement tools.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to standardize and optimize operational and financial performance of each individual group practice to successfully function as a large consolidated multi-specialty group.
  • Design and execute unique and innovative approaches for achieving best practice performance through operational improvements.
  • Lead the implementation and operationalize new groups.
  • Educate others on efficient practice operations to ensure organizational wide understanding and buy-in on current goals and initiatives.
  • Coordination of Clinical Operations Reviews departmental productivity levels and work functions to properly allocate human resources.
  • Develops departmental goals for increased productivity, improved efficiencies, and enhanced customer service.
  • Regularly benchmarks performance measures to identify best practice and directs implementation of necessary changes.
  • Oversees the data abstractors department to ensure accurate input of data.
  • Oversees continuous quality improvement initiatives by providing direction to department leaders and monitoring of interdisciplinary involvement in clinical projects.
  • Optimizes inventory workflow and adjusts par levels appropriately based on usage.
  • Development and Implementation of Strategic Plans Monitors service line growth and recommends strategies based on operational statistics and market needs and trends.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and marketing efforts with physicians and other referral sources.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Financial Management Vigilantly monitors cost management in alignment with patient volumes and revenue generation.
  • Approves departmental operation and capital budgets ensuring sufficient funds and personnel are available to accomplish departmental objectives within established financial guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Development and Ongoing Maintenance of Collaborative Relationships Develops and maintains strong, positive relationships with investors, members of medical staff, facility personnel, business partners, and guests to achieve business goals.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians and other departments to help troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Maintains current contracts with vendors and explores new contract opportunities while being fiscally responsible.
  • Serves as the lead facilitator for all cabinet meetings related to surgical services including but not limited to Cardiac Cabinet, and Surgical Services Executive Committee.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Surgical Services and the Director of Cardiovascular Services
