About The Position

Fox Entertainment is seeking a Director, Business & Legal Affairs to support a broad range of dealmaking and legal matters across creator partnerships, production, and emerging technology initiatives. This role will work with business and legal affairs leadership as an execution partner, helping to negotiate and implement complex agreements in a fast-evolving media landscape. The department in which this position sits at the intersection of traditional entertainment, the creator economy and technology-driven production. The ideal candidate is a highly versatile executive who thrives in a startup-like environment within a large media company. This individual has a demonstrated ability to be a strategic thinker as well as manage a high volume of day-to-day work, and can effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and a strong track record in negotiation, drafting, and analysis while contributing to a fast-paced, evolving business.

Requirements

  • JD degree and active member of California bar; Will consider those eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status (Rule 9.46)
  • 8+ years of legal experience (top-tier law firm and/or in-house media company experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience negotiating production, talent, and/or technology agreements
  • Strong legal judgment, drafting, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with clients and peers
  • Ability to support multiple projects at one time and solve problems while working under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Assist in negotiating, and drafting a wide range of agreements, including production, creator, and licensing deals
  • Support internal stakeholders by providing guidance on deal terms and risk considerations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including production, ad sales, technology and business teams to help execute partnerships and initiatives
  • Provide support on technology-related initiatives, including on workflow development, task management and integration
  • Assist in addressing legal and policy considerations related to new technologies and content
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes, templates, and best practices
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
