About The Position

We are a leading provider of integrated facility services, delivering comprehensive solutions that support the performance, safety, and long-term value of educational institutions. Our model combines deep operational expertise with scalable service delivery across multi-site portfolios. We are looking for a dynamic Director, Business Development focused on securing Integrated Facility Services (IFS) partnerships across K‑12 districts and higher education institutions. You’ll be working with multi‑site environments where operational reliability, cost management, and campus experience are closely linked. We partner with K-12 school districts, private universities, and higher education systems to manage and optimize their built environments - allowing administrators and leadership teams to focus on academic outcomes while we ensure operational excellence. The emphasis is on multi-year, bundled solutions that include: Custodial / janitorial services, Facilities maintenance (preventative & reactive), HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems support, Grounds and exterior services, Facilities management (FM) and staffing models, Energy management and sustainability programs, Capital planning support and asset lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in solution‑based selling within facility services, outsourcing, or managed services.
  • Direct experience working with K‑12 school districts and/or higher education institutions.
  • A proven track record of closing large, multi‑year contracts (typically $1M+ annually).
  • Strong understanding of integrated facility management models, including bundled service delivery across technical and soft services.
  • Experience navigating procurement‑driven environments and formal RFP processes.
  • The ability to translate operational solutions into clear financial and institutional value.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with executive‑level and operational stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach, working cross‑functionally with operations, finance, and technical teams.
  • A degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexibility to travel based on client needs (approximately 60–70%).

Responsibilities

  • Own full‑cycle business development for integrated facility services within the education sector.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of complex, multi‑site opportunities across school districts and campus environments.
  • Identify and target key accounts across K‑12, private universities, and higher education systems.
  • Lead consultative discovery processes, aligning solutions to institutional priorities such as budget constraints, deferred maintenance, and campus standards.
  • Navigate multi‑stakeholder environments, engaging finance leaders, facilities teams, procurement, and governance bodies.
  • Structure and position integrated service models that balance operational effectiveness, cost efficiency, and long‑term performance.
  • Partner with internal teams to design, price, and structure solutions aligned to client needs.
  • Lead RFPs, proposals, and contract negotiations within both public and private sector procurement environments.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Deliver against revenue, margin, and long‑term contract value objectives.
