About The Position

Owl Cyber Defense is hiring a new position of Director of Business Development for the Business Development Team with a primary focus on the Defense sector and weapons systems. The position will be responsible for developing and executing business development and capture strategies. In addition, the candidate must be experienced managing a capture process with focus on key programs during the shaping process pre RFX. This includes developing and strengthening partnerships with Federal Systems Integrators (FSIs) and other companies that will help Owl Cyber Defense meet customer requirements and mission needs. Although this position is remote, travel to the DC and Huntsville metro area and key target customers and partners will be required.

Requirements

  • Experience 10 or more years of professional work experience supporting the Federal Government including capture management & business development with an emphasis on new business development
  • A strong understanding of weapons systems and the role of cross domain securing said systems
  • Relationships with US Federal Government customers, Federal Systems Integrators, and related companies required
  • Must be able to build comprehensive Business Development and Capture strategies to win business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task between multiple tasks/customer situations simultaneously
  • Motivated, self-directed, and results-driven
  • Experience with using HubSpot or other CRM applications
  • Ability to travel ~25%
  • Candidates must be eligible to attain a US Government clearance

Responsibilities

  • Check industry and government systems for business opportunities.
  • Participate in industry meetings, conferences, symposia, and networking events
  • Develop a program description and background, including competitor assessment versus evaluation criteria/customer requirements
  • Maintain a viable pipeline aligned with current and projected company Fed targets and certifications, and past performance qualifications
  • Secure Teaming Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with industry partners to drive business; maintain accurate records of companies and opportunities for which NDAs and teaming agreements are in effect
  • Manage capture and proposal mgr’s as needed for quick turnaround or high volume LOE’s for RFP’s
  • Have a strong understanding of company products and services, as well as our business position and competition to win business
  • Develop strategies, new lines of business, and methods to win business in government organizations and industry partners
  • Develop and maintain continuing relationships with government and industry leaders
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external strategic partners.
  • Meet regularly with internal stakeholders and strategic partners to review pipeline and capabilities
  • Maintain continual awareness of Owl’s competitive position with respective sectors through collection of business intelligence, competitor analysis, contract award notices, and industry and government press releases
