About The Position

The Director of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Sciences (BSPS) Program serves as the inaugural administrative leader for the College of Pharmacy’s new undergraduate program. This position is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and student-centered leadership to ensure the successful, development, implementation, and ongoing excellence of this new program. The Director will collaborate with faculty and academic units to support curriculum delivery, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Services, with collaborative relationships across academic departments, including the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Experimental Therapeutics. The faculty and staff of the Office of Professional Education (OPE) manage all aspects of the Doctor of Pharmacy program and the newly created BSPS program. The OPE has a co-leadership model led by the associate dean of academic affairs (ADAA) and the associate dean of student success (ADSS). The office includes eight professional staff members (director of admissions, director of student success, assessment and accreditation manager, curriculum manager, admissions counselor, academic advisor, instructional services specialist, and administrative coordinator). There is significant interplay between academic affairs and student services staff, and the office’s structure allows for meaningful collaboration to ensure support of all faculty and students.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in science, education, analytics, or education-related field and a minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in science, education, analytics, or education-related field and a minimum of five years of related experience
  • Working effectively with students in higher education.
  • Analyzing student or program data.
  • University educational tools to assist with admissions, advising, billing, financial aid, and/or course registration.
  • Overseeing and managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of course arrangement and academic planning.
  • Ability to counsel and assist students with course selection, study skills and/or career preparation.
  • Ability to manage educational or instructional programs, extracurricular activities, or academic planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in student development, counseling, higher education administration, education, or related field.
  • Previous direct leadership experience with undergraduate program administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience including experience supervising students.
  • Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the BSPS academic program, career pathways and institutional resources to support student success.
  • Lead academic advising, including development of tools, processes and coordination with faculty and advisors to ensure consistent, high-quality guidance for undergraduate students.
  • Advise students on curricular requirements, academic policies, progression standards, and career pathways.
  • Advise international students in collaboration with campus partners on requirements and documentation.
  • Lead enrollment management function for the BSPS program by leveraging data, systems, and cross-functional collaboration to support program growth, student success, and operational efficiency.
  • Review and interpret course enrollment, retention, and progression data to inform program planning, course scheduling, and resource allocation for the program.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting tools and dashboards to monitor enrollment trends, student outcomes, and key performance indicators aligned with program and college goals.
  • Serve as the program liaison to key university offices, including the Office of Student Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, and Student Disability Services, to ensure coordinated support for BSPS students.
  • Administer and continuously improve academic standards, policies, and procedures for the BSPS program to support student success, academic integrity, and program quality.
  • Oversee the implementation and consistent application of BSPS program policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with collegiate and university standards.
  • Monitor the academic progression of BSPS students, identifying trends and risk factors that may impact retention and timely degree completion.
  • Evaluate and make determinations on student requests for exceptions to curricular requirements (e.g., substitutions, waivers, progression adjustments) based on established criteria and policy guidance.
  • Oversee planning and execution of BSPS program events aligned with student engagement and program goals.
  • Coordinate commencement activities in collaboration with the OPE team.
  • Manage student awards and recognition programs.
  • Plan and execute career-focused events.
  • Develop and monitor financial reports to assess alignment with program goals.
  • Manage budget for program recruiting, student engagement initiatives, and other associated activities.
  • Manage budgets for tutoring, career development, mentoring, and student engagement initiatives.
