About The Position

Director, Associate General Counsel will provide strategic legal advice to business partners, focusing on mitigating risks, safeguarding assets, and driving efficiencies. This role will identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization, leveraging data-driven metrics to streamline operations. Staying up to date on industry trends, laws, and regulations, the role will ensure compliance and informed decision-making. Additionally, the role involves expanding scope to manage more clients or specialties, implementing project plans for improvement, and supporting cross-functional legal initiatives.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor required.
  • Seven (7) + years of experience in legal practice in a field having relevance to BAYADA Home Health Care operations (e.g., corporate contracts and transactions, healthcare, labor and employment, litigation, corporate governance, privacy, or another relevant field).
  • Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to handle complex legal matters, and ability to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Ability to balance strategic legal solutions with pragmatic focus on faithful implementation.
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with other team members, senior management, practice leadership, and support office and field office staff.
  • Substantial experience with project management in a corporate setting.
  • Substantial experience leading people or complex corporate processes.
  • Advanced communication and corporate implementation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and communicate the core values of BAYADA and The BAYADA Way.
  • Develop working knowledge of BAYADA’s mission, services, people, organization, policies and procedures.
  • Identify and evaluate key legal issues and provide proactive strategic advice to business partners to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and gain efficiencies.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to simplify current processes and drive standardization using data-driven metrics.
  • Remain current on relevant industry trends, laws, and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research using online and other research tools.
  • May be assigned specialty-specific (e.g., labor and employment, contracts and transactions, privacy, healthcare, etc.) or function-specific (e.g., Finance, Global Support Services, Clinical, Operations Office, or Practice specialty) role(s) at the discretion of General Counsel or General Counsel’s designee.
  • Scope will typically be expanded to handle additional clients and/or broader specialties than Senior Corporate Counsel.
  • Design, develop, and implement project management plans to support continuous improvement opportunities as needed.
  • Support cross-functional implementation and initiatives on behalf of legal team.
  • Demonstrate solid performance or exceed performance standards in key job dimensions/attributes as defined on the Performance Appraisal for Office Staff.
  • Perform related duties, or as required or requested by supervisor.
