About The Position

Stikeman Elliott LLP is seeking an innovative and dynamic lawyer with excellent people skills and a great team spirit to join their Talent Management team in Toronto as the Director, Articling Student Programs. This role is responsible for the career development and engagement of articling students, and also assists with student recruitment, professional development programs for legal professionals, and other Talent Management special projects. The position offers exposure to Associate Programs and the opportunity to work closely with different groups of timekeepers at the Firm, within a team environment that emphasizes collaboration and service excellence.

Requirements

  • A law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • At least 6 years of experience practicing or in talent management at a large law firm.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, communication skills and judgement.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • The ability to lead large projects, handle multiple priorities, and problem-solve effectively and diplomatically.
  • A strong interest and aptitude in mentoring and training others.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for articling students' career development and engagement.
  • Assisting with student recruitment.
  • Assisting with professional development programs for legal professionals.
  • Assisting with other Talent Management special projects.
  • Having exposure to the Associate Programs.
  • Over time, having the opportunity to work closely with different groups of timekeepers at the Firm.
