About The Position

Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning (A&P) is looking for a Director adn Finance Partner, Core Autonomy Division to as a key strategic leader, instrumental in shaping the future direction of our finance and corporate services. In this capacity, you will drive financial performance and deliver critical strategic insights that underpin informed decision-making across the Core Autonomy Division. You will collaborate directly with the Division President, as well as Senior Vice Presidents responsible for Roadtrains, Sensors, and Perception Technology. This is a highly global role, encompassing governance and operational responsibility for project accounting, R&D accounting, logistics and operations finance, and FP&A. In partnership with the Global Finance Centres (GBS Shared Services – Accounting and Operations), you will ensure seamless end-to-end process harmonisation and uphold the highest standards of financial excellence. Given the international scope of this position, a flexible approach to working hours across multiple time zones is essential. The role may be based in either Perth, Australia or North America. A core operating principle of this role is to champion “The Hexagon Way” by exemplifying Speed, Accountability, and Transparency in all aspects of financial leadership. You will embed these values into daily operations, fostering a culture of swift action, clear responsibility, and open communication, ensuring they are reflected across all financial processes and stakeholder interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA / CA preferred; MBA or similar advantageous.
  • At least 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A, project accounting, and business partnering exposure.
  • International experience with a solid understanding of multi-jurisdictional finance operations and global shared services models.
  • Experience governing R&D accounting, logistics/operations finance, and project cost management.
  • M&A experience, Due Diligence and Integration practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior divisional and SBU leaders (VP level and above) across complex, matrixed organisations, including collaboration with other Divisional VP Finance leads.
  • Experience operating within or stewarding governance and delegation authority frameworks (e.g. approval authority matrices, policy and controls environments) in a complex, multi-divisional organisation.
  • Experience working with Global Business Services / Shared Services finance models preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Flexibility with global working hours given the global scope of the role

  • Technical Understanding: While not necessarily an engineer, the FBP should grasp the technical aspects of autonomous solutions. Familiarity with technologies from brands like NovAtel, AutonomouStuff, Veripos, and Antcom within Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division would be advantageous.
  • Results-Oriented: The FBP must be driven by results. Setting measurable goals, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies as needed are critical.
  • Global Mindset & Flexibility: This is a global role requiring the ability to operate across multiple time zones. Due to the nature of the scope, working hours may not be typical and flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with division and SBU heads to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with strategy for the Core Autonomy Division.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and guidance on business strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessment and management activities, identifying potential financial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Link R&D to offer launch and P&L impact.
  • Build a cash conversion and reoccurring revenue culture across the division.
  • Govern and operate end-to-end project accounting across the Core Autonomy Division globally, ensuring revenue recognition, cost allocation, and reporting comply with relevant standards.
  • Oversee R&D accounting including capitalisation policies, grant management, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Ensure project portfolios are supported with rigorous financial oversight, enabling successful execution of initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering and PMO to maintain financial integrity across the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain rigor in engineering and innovation, ensuring lifetime use justifies the investment.
  • Govern logistics and operations finance for the Core Autonomy Division, ensuring cost efficiency and transparency.
  • Gross margin accountability, in concert with supply chain, ensuring pricing models reflect market opportunity whilst covering cost.
  • Enable supply chain optimisation through excellence in sales forecasting.
  • Build a culture of opex leverage, taking advantage of scale, systems, tools and playbooks to enhance profit through reuse of resources.
  • In concert with finance operations, develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support key business initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Introduce Hoshin style goal setting across the scope appointed.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for financial performance against budget and forecast.
  • Actively drive cash conversion performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Manage sales and non-sales bonus processes, including development of bonus structures, calculation methodologies, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies and monitor changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Champion internal controls as per Key Control area.
  • In concert with legal – ensure compliance to sales order contract risk tolerances, anticompetition constraints, fraud and bribery controls and gift and hospitality policies. In concert with Export Control – uphold necessary controls and boundaries as required for controlled goods.
  • In concert with Credit Control – uphold the credit risk tolerances, activity work to improve aged receivables.
  • Champion cyber and physical security, data privacy, data governance, compliance.
  • Act as custodian of the Autonomous Solutions Governance, Accountability and Autonomy Matrix for the Core Autonomy Division, ensuring divisional adherence to all applicable policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and that sub-delegations are maintained, filed, and aligned with Business Area functional dotted lines.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Core Autonomy Division President and SBU Senior Vice Presidents (Roadtrains; Sensors & Perception Technology).
  • Prioritise stakeholder needs and enhance their experience.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners globally.
  • Ensure alignment between corporate services and stakeholder expectations.
  • Work with the Global Finance Centres (GBS Accounting & Operations) to enable end-toend harmonisation of business processes in line with the divisional strategy.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies to enhance financial performance.
  • Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) as required.
  • M&A closing and post close follow up aligned with PMI practices.
  • Partner with corporate services (quality, HR, IT, Legal & Compliance, Real Estate) to ensure customer and employee satisfaction.
  • In concert with strategy, support the M&A pipeline from LOI through DD to PMI rigorously applying both commercial and financial logic.
  • Transformational projects across Corporate Services as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Divisional VP Finance leads to share best practices, align on cross-divisional initiatives, and maintain consistency in financial governance across Autonomous Solutions.
  • Skill Development: Build programs to encourage continuous learning and skill enhancement. Training programs, certifications, and mentorship.
  • Talent Acquisition: Build corporate services processes that attract top talent who share our vision. Recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise.
  • Succession Planning: Identify high-potential employees and groom them for leadership roles. Build a robust bench strength for all corporate services functions.
