Director, AI Operations & Marketing Transformation (Remote)

CrowdStrikeUSA CA Remote, CA

About The Position

CrowdStrike's marketing organization is undergoing a fundamental shift in how work gets done, moving beyond optimization to building the next operating model for modern marketing: AI-enabled, workflow-driven, and designed to scale with strong human governance. As Director of AI Operations & Marketing Transformation, you will be a strategic partner to the VP of Marketing Excellence & Transformation, working closely with the CMO and the MLT. You will drive the adoption of agentic capabilities across marketing teams, own the change management for transformation, define the evolution of marketing roles and skills, shape the AI platform's product roadmap, and guide the organization into a fundamentally different future of marketing work. This role is focused on the transformation-to-execution layer, requiring someone who can understand the vision, pressure-test it, help shape the solution, and make it operationally real. The ideal candidate is more technical than a pure strategist, with expertise in workflow logic, tool connections, and operational requirements. This is a greenfield ownership opportunity at the intersection of AI, marketing strategy, and organizational change, with direct reporting to the VP of Marketing Transformation and visibility to the CMO and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in strategy, consulting, or marketing transformation, or similar cross-functional builder-operator roles, with a track record of driving change.
  • Deep marketing knowledge, understanding of campaigns, content creation, demand generation, and operational friction points.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational transformation, moving an organization from old to new ways of working successfully.
  • Change management expertise in practice, including overcoming resistance, building coalitions, creating advocates, and helping teams adopt new ways of working.
  • Strategic storytelling ability to build narratives for senior leaders and frontline teams.
  • Strong technical fluency with AI/agentic systems, including Claude code-level proficiency, understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, and credible conversations with engineering.
  • Product thinking skills to identify user pain points, prioritize opportunities, and shape product development.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills to engage senior leaders and simplify complex concepts.
  • Strong judgment around governance, quality control, rollout readiness, and operational scale.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a builder-operator mindset, comfortable creating initial versions, learning quickly, and making processes repeatable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in management consulting (BCG, McKinsey, Bain, or equivalent) with a focus on marketing/commercial transformation or operating model design.
  • Prior role as a marketing leader (Director+) who has also been on the transformation/ops side.
  • Experience with AI-powered marketing tools or platforms, driving their adoption across teams.
  • Background in B2B technology or cybersecurity marketing.
  • Experience building and scaling teams.
  • Prior people management experience.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering beyond basic usage, understanding the architecture.
  • Track record of working at the intersection of marketing and technology.
  • Experience with skills-based organization design or workforce transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Define the future of marketing work at CrowdStrike, including evolving roles, shifting skills, and changing ways of working as AI becomes the default.
  • Build strategic narratives for leaders and teams about the direction and rationale for transformation, including executive presentations, roadmaps, and organizational blueprints.
  • Provide strategic leverage to the VP of Marketing Excellence & Transformation through stakeholder management, executive communication, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Ensure transformation connects to execution reality by embedding new ways of working in real teams and workflows, not as isolated innovation projects.
  • Own the operational layer of AI-powered marketing, including agent performance, workflow reliability, output quality, and cost efficiency across all agentic systems.
  • Design and manage human-AI workflows, defining autonomous agent operation, human-in-the-loop requirements, and handoffs.
  • Define AI governance for marketing, establishing decision rights for AI operation, approval processes, sanctioned models and data, and greenlighting new use cases.
  • Build the evaluation and feedback infrastructure for systematic quality loops to improve agent performance over time.
  • Manage prompt architecture, memory systems, and context strategies to enhance AI output usefulness.
  • Monitor and optimize platform economics, including token usage, model selection, throughput vs. quality tradeoffs, and cost-per-output metrics to prove ROI.
  • Build operational playbooks for non-technical marketers to confidently run AI workflows, reducing dependence on the role over time.
  • Lead rollout and adoption of new AI-enabled workflows across marketing teams, building trust and changing how work is done.
  • Own change management by identifying resistance patterns, building advocates, creating proof points, and converting skeptics through demonstrated value.
  • Train and optimize AI agents through better prompts, memory tuning, quality standards, and feedback loops.
  • Build and prioritize the feature backlog, translating user pain points and strategic opportunities into a roadmap for engineering.
  • Connect leadership priorities with platform capabilities, ensuring alignment between executive concerns and team needs.
  • Guide the technical build from a strategic perspective, shaping what gets built, why, and in what order.
  • Build reporting and adoption metrics to track adoption, workflow outcomes, and business outcomes, using data to demonstrate impact.
  • Combine technical understanding, operational follow-through, and strong cross-functional partnership to ensure transformation sticks.
