About The Position

The Group AI Transformation Manager is responsible for driving AI adoption across a group of 3–7 businesses. This role acts as a bridge between strategic AI initiatives and practical, commercially-relevant implementation at the business unit (BU) level. The primary focus is on accelerating adoption, building capabilities, and ensuring AI delivers measurable business value, rather than on technical development. The manager creates the environment and pace for AI solutions to be adopted, embedded, and scaled within the business units.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable track record of leading or driving adoption of significant change programs in complex, multi-business or multi-site organizations, ideally including technology-related change.
  • Experience working across multiple business units or functions simultaneously, comfortable holding several stakeholder relationships and competing priorities.
  • Background in at least one of the following: management consulting, business transformation, change management, digital program leadership, or senior commercial/operational roles with significant change exposure.
  • Evidence of translating strategy into practical action, implementing through people who do not report directly.
  • Experience of coaching, influencing, and enabling others, understanding when to dive deeper without doing the work themselves.
  • Exposure to AI tools, workflows, or adoption in a professional context; must be a genuine, informed user of AI.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understands how BUs make money and where AI creates genuine value; can frame AI in terms of revenue, margin, customer experience, and competitive advantage.
  • Influence Without Authority: Ability to build trust, credibility, and energy to engage and drive action from BU leaders, Champions, and functional heads.
  • Translation Ability: Can move fluently between the language of the CoE and the language of the BU.
  • Structured Problem-Solving: Able to assess adoption issues and diagnose the right intervention.
  • Resilience & Pace: Ability to prioritize well, maintain energy across multiple businesses, and recover quickly from setbacks.
  • Storytelling & Communication: Can tell the AI story compellingly to different audiences, adapting the message without losing substance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi-business group or divisional structure.
  • Modaxo/CSI background or in a sector relevant to the company's BUs.
  • Experience building or participating in centers of excellence, networks of practice, or similar cross-functional capability initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI adoption maturity models or change frameworks (ADKAR, Kotter, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an AI transformation roadmap for the group, aligning with Group Leader/BU strategy and mapping BU maturity and opportunity pipelines.
  • Identify and prioritize AI use cases across BUs using an impact, feasibility, and strategic fit framework.
  • Translate market intelligence and CoE updates on AI capabilities into commercial opportunities for BUs.
  • Lead regular AI opportunity reviews with Group Leaders, BU leaders, and the CoE, challenging ambition and connecting BU ideas to enterprise patterns.
  • Feed group-level insights and use case results back to the CoE to inform the Modaxo AI roadmap.
  • Act as the primary implementation partner for BUs deploying AI tools and workflows, working with leaders and AI Champions to accelerate deployment.
  • Diagnose and remove adoption barriers such as capability gaps, process friction, data readiness, change resistance, or resource constraints.
  • Lead the scoping, design, and monitoring of AI pilots, ensuring they generate transferable learning and scale-ready outcomes.
  • Identify and replicate successful use cases across other BUs in the group.
  • Hold BU leaders accountable for agreed AI adoption milestones.
  • Serve as the day-to-day operational partner to AI Champions, providing guidance, escalation support, and sharing learnings.
  • Support AI Champions in running BU-level awareness, education, and engagement activities.
  • Help AI Champions develop BU AI readiness assessments and activation plans.
  • Identify capability gaps across the group's workforce and coordinate learning interventions through the CoE.
  • Track and report on AI literacy levels and adoption readiness using the CoE maturity framework.
  • Build trusted relationships with BU leaders, acting as a credible, commercially-aware advisor.
  • Manage the human side of AI change within the group, addressing concerns, communicating progress, and ensuring no BU feels left behind.
  • Represent the group's needs and voice in CoE working groups and enterprise AI governance forums.
  • Participate in the AI Transformation Management Peer Group.
  • Brief the Group Leader regularly on adoption progress, risks, and decisions requiring intervention.
  • Work with HR and the CoE to connect AI adoption to the AI Impact Personas framework.
  • Own the group's AI adoption scorecard, tracking metrics like adoption rates, use cases live, value delivered, capability development, and maturity.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Group Leader and CoE on progress against the AI transformation roadmap.
