About The Position

Premier's Financial Transformation Advisory Practice reimagines the entire patient financial journey, from intake to invoice, helping health systems achieve sustainable margin improvement through an integrated, enterprise-wide approach. Rather than pursuing isolated fixes, our team works end-to-end across three interconnected pillars that drive lasting financial performance: Revenue Cycle, Managed Care, and Clinical Integrity. Our consultants combine trusted advisory relationships with advanced analytics, automation, and AI to help clients reduce friction, uncover hidden opportunities, strengthen accountability, and improve financial performance across the enterprise. The Director serves as a senior leader within Premier's Financial Transformation Revenue Cycle Practice and is responsible for driving client outcomes, developing executive relationships, growing the business, and developing consulting talent. The Director acts as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, providing strategic guidance on enterprise revenue cycle transformation, operational improvement, technology optimization, and financial performance enhancement. The Director is accountable for leading complex client engagements, cultivating executive-level relationships, driving business development activities, overseeing engagement teams, and contributing to the growth and evolution of Premier's Revenue Cycle Practice. This role provides executive oversight for projects of all sizes and durations and maintains accountability for engagement quality, financial performance, client satisfaction, and achievement of measurable client outcomes. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Chief Revenue Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Information Officers, and other executive leaders, helping clients develop and execute strategic plans that improve operational performance, strengthen financial outcomes, and create sustainable organizational change. In addition to client delivery responsibilities, the Director plays a significant role in business development, practice development, thought leadership, and talent development activities. The Director mentors Managers, Senior Consultants and Consultants, contributes to the development of innovative solutions and methodologies, and helps drive growth across the Revenue Cycle service line. This position collaborates with and develops strong client relationships across all levels of healthcare organizations, including executive leadership, revenue cycle operations, finance, clinical leadership, and technology teams, to achieve transformational results.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of applicable experience.
  • 10+ years of applicable healthcare experience.
  • 7+ years of experience leading revenue cycle operations, healthcare consulting engagements, or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex healthcare performance improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior executives and leading large-scale transformational initiatives.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Executive-level communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and advise C-suite and senior healthcare leaders.
  • Strong business development, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
  • Expertise in revenue cycle operations, performance improvement, and financial transformation.
  • Ability to lead large, complex client engagements and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing innovative solutions and practice methodologies.
  • Proven people leadership and talent development capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical, strategic problem-solving, and financial management skills.

  • Revenue cycle leadership experience across acute care, ambulatory, physician enterprise, and integrated health systems.
  • Healthcare consulting experience focused on revenue cycle, financial transformation, operational improvement, or technology optimization.
  • Experience leading Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, Meditech, or other revenue cycle technology transformation initiatives.
  • Track record of delivering measurable improvements in cash flow, denial reduction, revenue capture, productivity, and operating margins.
  • Proven success developing new business and expanding executive client relationships.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide revenue cycle transformation programs involving operational, technology, and organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and oversight for revenue cycle transformation engagements.
  • Serve as the primary executive relationship manager for assigned clients.
  • Lead executive-level discussions regarding organizational performance, strategic priorities, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Guide engagement teams in developing actionable recommendations and implementation plans that address client objectives.
  • Oversee complex operational, financial, technology, and performance analyses and ensure quality of engagement deliverables.
  • Facilitate executive steering committees, leadership workshops, and board-level presentations.
  • Manage engagement economics, profitability, scope, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure successful implementation and achievement of targeted financial and operational outcomes.
  • Sponsor large-scale transformation initiatives and support realization of sustainable improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and expanded client partnerships.
  • Direct and mentor Managers, Consultants, and Analysts assigned to engagements.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for key client relationships and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, cultivate, and expand executive client relationships that generate additional revenue opportunities.
  • Lead sales pursuits, proposal development, statements of work, oral presentations, negotiations, and contracting activities.
  • Partner with practice leadership to achieve annual growth and revenue objectives.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities within existing and prospective client organizations.
  • Develop strategic account plans and expansion strategies for key client relationships.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for strategic client accounts and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Premier commercial and account management teams to identify and pursue market opportunities.
  • Actively generate new business through industry relationships, networking, conferences, and executive introductions.
  • Contribute to annual pipeline development, forecasting, and growth planning activities.
  • Support cross-selling opportunities across Premier service lines and solutions.
  • Lead development and enhancement of revenue cycle methodologies, frameworks, intellectual property, and solution offerings.
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities, including conference presentations, webinars, publications, benchmark studies, and market-facing content.
  • Identify emerging healthcare and revenue cycle trends and translate those insights into innovative service offerings.
  • Collaborate with practice leadership to establish strategic priorities, market positioning, and service line growth plans.
  • Promote adoption of analytics, automation, AI, and technology-enabled solutions throughout client engagements.
  • Participate in strategic planning efforts supporting overall Advisory Services growth.
  • Help define and standardize leading practices for revenue cycle transformation engagements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop new offerings that address market demand and client needs.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Managers, Consultants, and Analysts across the practice.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention activities.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Lead staffing and resource planning discussions across multiple engagements.
  • Provide ongoing performance coaching and career development guidance.
  • Identify high-potential talent and support advancement within the organization.
  • Promote employee engagement and professional development across the Revenue Cycle service line.

  • Lead internal educational sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
