About The Position

This Director of Revenue Cycle will be responsible for direct oversight of billing, vendor management, and denials management for patient revenue along with working with the C-suite on critical revenue cycle initiatives. This role includes direct supervision of all Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) staff, including billing specialists and medical coders, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and efficiency across all revenue-related functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Strong understanding of payer regulations, compliance standards, and healthcare revenue cycle best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Healthcare Financial Management (e.g., CRCR, CHFP, or HFMA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the organization’s financial performance by ensuring accurate, efficient capture, billing, and collection of patient revenue within compliance guidelines.
  • Oversee and support daily operations of the revenue cycle and credentialing team, including billing, follow-up, collections, cash posting, metrics reporting, and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Direct and guide managers to allocate resources effectively based on patient volume, space availability, budget constraints, and program priorities.
  • Establish controls and review mechanisms to ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Prioritize changing demands, multi-task, and creatively meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop strategies related to financial and revenue cycle applications.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization to ensure team alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurance requirements.
  • Stay current with new trends and best practices, incorporating them into revenue cycle practices and programs.
  • Supervise and coordinate revenue enhancement initiatives and business operations throughout the entire revenue cycle.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant records related to operations and services.
  • Develop, evaluate, implement, and revise policies and procedures related to billing, coding, reimbursement activities, and improvement strategies.
  • Manage and develop team talent to achieve organizational goals.
