About The Position
Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Operations, the Director of Advancement serves as a bridge between key functions in Oglethorpe University’s Advancement system. The position bridges advancement operations, data management and services, and annual donor engagement and fundraising activities to positively contribute to the overall success of the University Advancement team.
Requirements
- Proficiency using Raiser’s Edge (or a similar donor CRM)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- A minimum of 5 years of Advancement experience with proven success
- Applicants without Raiser’s Edge or similar donor CRM experience should not apply.

- A bachelor’s degree or higher from a nationally accredited university

Responsibilities
- Ensures that daily gift processing and gift acknowledgement processes are completed in a timely and accurate fashion
- Performs gift processing and gift review as needed
- Supports the Advancement Operations Manager in monthly gift reconciliation processes
- Uses the Raiser’s Edge database to create queries, exports, dashboards, and reports
- Uses Raiser’s Edge to fulfill complex data requests from Advancement colleagues
- Produces weekly and on-demand financial fundraising reports for Advancement stakeholders
- Provides data set-up and support for Advancement events and fundraising appeals
- Manages and supports the completion of annual and periodic data clean-up projects
- Manages and supports the completion of annual and periodic data imports and updates
- Collaborates cross-functionally with campus partners to facilitate data sharing, ensure data integrity, and reconcile records across institutional systems
- Uses Raiser’s Edge tools and features to conduct donor analysis, comparative giving analysis, fundraising performance analysis, and more for the purpose of generating actionable insights
- Uses Raiser’s Edge Prospect Insight tools to identify strong prospects, build prospect lists, and improve the portfolios of frontline fundraisers
- Uses technology to track and manage projects and tasks
- Consistently meets project and task deadlines
- Provides task support to Operations and other Advancement colleagues as needed
- Provides event support for Advancement events (including weekend and evening events)
- Actively participates in Advancement and institutional staff meetings, trainings, and convenings
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the needs and objectives of Advancement
