As Director, Accounting at Conga, you will lead the global accounting function, overseeing the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial reporting, close processes, and compliance framework. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations while continuing to build scalable processes that support a high-growth SaaS environment. You will partner closely with Finance, FP&A, Legal, and business leaders to ensure alignment between operational activities and financial outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will both guide the team and actively contribute to key deliverables such as month-end close, audits, and technical accounting matters.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles within a SaaS or technology-driven organization.
  • Strong expertise in US GAAP, financial reporting, and managing the month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Experience leading teams and developing talent is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Proven experience leading annual audits and working with external auditors.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Billing, AR, Legal, FP&A, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate accounting concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Operate with a high level of precision and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS accounting is highly preferred, including familiarity with revenue recognition (ASC 606), subscription models, and billing integrations.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite (or similar).
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and consolidation tools.
  • Experience partnering with FP&A systems (Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.) is a plus.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset and leverage relationships, tools, and insights across the organization to drive results.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Shorten close cycles and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Effectively collaborate with Billing, AR, Legal, FP&A, and business stakeholders.
  • Build processes that minimize errors, and when issues arise, address them transparently and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
