About The Position

Conga is seeking a Director, Accounting to lead the global accounting function. This role is responsible for overseeing the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial reporting, close processes, and compliance framework. The Director will manage day-to-day accounting operations and build scalable processes to support a high-growth SaaS environment. This position requires close partnership with Finance, FP&A, Legal, and business leaders to ensure alignment between operational activities and financial outcomes. It is a hands-on leadership role involving team guidance and active contribution to key deliverables such as month-end close, audits, and technical accounting matters. Accounting is a critical pillar of Conga's financial foundation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financials to support executive decision-making, board reporting, and investor confidence. The role is central to managing the close process, preparing for and leading annual audits, and continuously improving accounting operations. It also drives cross-functional alignment to ensure financial processes scale with the business while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Leadership roles within a SaaS or technology-driven organization.
  • Strong expertise in US GAAP.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting.
  • Experience managing the month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Experience leading teams and developing talent.
  • Ability to collaborate across Finance, FP&A, Legal, and operational teams.
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and solving problems.
  • Ability to influence decisions through data and financial insight.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Strong track record of building and improving accounting processes.
  • Experience ensuring accuracy while increasing efficiency.
  • Understanding of how to scale systems and workflows in a growing organization.
  • Ability to implement best practices that stand up to audit and compliance scrutiny.
  • Takes ownership of outcomes and doesn’t wait for direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in SaaS accounting is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Familiarity with subscription models.
  • Familiarity with billing integrations.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite (or similar).
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and consolidation tools.
  • Experience partnering with FP&A systems (Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.) is a plus.
  • Proven experience leading annual audits and working with external auditors.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Experience shortening close cycles and improving reporting accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Billing, AR, Legal, FP&A, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate accounting concepts to non-financial audiences.
