About The Position

The Retail & Consumer Goods organization brings together deep industry expertise, strategic customer relationships, and Microsoft technology to help some of our largest and most complex customers transform their businesses. As part of this team, you will partner with senior customer leaders, orchestrate teams across Microsoft, and connect customer business priorities with Microsoft technologies and solutions to help shape long-term transformation. As a Director of Account Technology Strategy, you will act as both a virtual CTO and sales leader developing the technology strategy for one of our largest and most complex strategic accounts in Retail & Consumer Goods. You will serve as the voice of the customer and an internal advocate across Microsoft. You will partner with senior customer leaders to understand future business needs, identify opportunities for digital transformation, and articulate how Microsoft technologies and services can deliver differentiated business value. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your strategic technology leadership, strengthen executive customer relationships, orchestrate global teams, and influence transformation across high-impact Retail & Consumer Goods customers. The preferred location for this role is Chicago, though we’re open to candidates in other locations who are comfortable with increased travel to client sites. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience.
• Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 14+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.
• 4+ years experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or change management.
• 5+ years experience leading technical, support, and/or partner teams.

Responsibilities

• Bring deep customer and industry knowledge to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and competitive challenges. Translate insights into recommendations that help customers evolve their business and technology strategies. Connect customers with Microsoft expertise, solutions, and partners to solve complex business challenges.
• Serve as a trusted technology advisor to senior business and technical leaders, including CXO-level stakeholders. Connect Microsoft’s technology and capabilities to customers’ most important business priorities and long-term goals. Challenge customer thinking, introduce new ideas, and help shape transformation strategies that deliver measurable business value.
• Lead strategic technology conversations that help customers understand emerging trends, opportunities, and Microsoft’s platform. Engage and inspire customer, partner, and Microsoft technical teams around a shared transformation vision. Support customer skilling and adoption to drive long-term success.
• Own the technical strategy and technology components of the account plan for large, complex, or strategic customers. Orchestrate Microsoft teams and partners to align the right resources to customer priorities. Partner with the Account Executive to set strategy, identify opportunities, track progress, and drive customer outcomes.
• Help customers define their path to AI and emerging technologies by connecting business priorities to a clear technology roadmap. Identify and shape new opportunities, create customer demand, and orchestrate specialists, customer success teams, and partners to execute. Lead strategic envisioning that connects Microsoft solutions to near- and long-term customer priorities.
• Develop long-term technology strategies and roadmaps aligned to the customer’s business goals, industry landscape, and transformation priorities. Identify where Microsoft technologies can address gaps, accelerate innovation, and drive adoption and consumption. Serve as the strategic link between the customer and Microsoft to turn vision into actionable priorities.
• Build trusted relationships with senior customer leaders by bringing broad knowledge of Microsoft’s technology, strategy, security, and competitive landscape. Serve as the voice of the customer within Microsoft, bringing customer needs and feedback to Product, Engineering, and other internal teams. Provide technology and security thought leadership while mobilizing the right Microsoft experts to solve customer challenges.
