About The Position

Provides strategic and instructional leadership for the district’s dyslexia program across assigned campuses, ensuring consistent implementation of high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction that leads to measurable student growth. Leads the development, execution, and continuous improvement of systems for early identification, intervention, and progress monitoring for students with dyslexia, ensuring alignment to state requirements and district priorities. Serves as a partner to campus leaders by coaching, supporting, and building their capacity to implement dyslexia services with fidelity. Establishes clear expectations, monitors progress through data cycles, and provides targeted support and feedback to ensure campuses meet compliance standards and improve student outcomes. Oversees program implementation, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure coherent systems that integrate dyslexia services within the broader instructional framework. Ensures accountability through ongoing monitoring of key performance indicators, timely compliance with state and federal guidelines, and implementation of action plans with defined milestones and timelines to address gaps in practice and performance

Requirements

  • 3–5 years teaching experience in reading, dyslexia, reading intervention, or special education
  • Experience with dyslexia identification and instruction (required)
  • The role requires prior experience in both classroom teaching and school leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Campus or district leadership experience (preferred)
  • Experience with ARD/504 processes and compliance systems (preferred)
  • Dyslexia certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Establish clear expectations for compliance timelines (e.g., identification, evaluation, service delivery) and monitor adherence through monthly data reviews
  • Conduct quarterly compliance audits and provide campuses with specific feedback and required corrective actions within defined timelines
  • Ensure consistent implementation of evidence-based, structured literacy practices across campuses
  • Conduct regular campus walkthroughs (minimum monthly) to monitor instructional fidelity and provide actionable feedback to campus leaders and teachers
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (e.g., student growth, program entry/exit rates, progress monitoring fidelity)
  • Design and deliver targeted professional development aligned to identified campus needs
  • Provide ongoing coaching to campus administrators, teachers, and interventionists focused on improving instructional practice and implementation fidelity
  • Develop tools, resources, and exemplars to support high-quality instruction and progress monitoring
  • Provide guidance to campuses on staffing models to ensure appropriate allocation of dyslexia teachers and interventionists
  • Support selection, onboarding, and development of dyslexia staff
  • Facilitate problem-solving with campus leaders to address systemic barriers impacting student outcomes
  • Ensure campuses implement clear, timely communication with families regarding dyslexia identification, services, and student progress
  • Develop and monitor short- and long-term goals for dyslexia program effectiveness
  • Conduct annual program evaluations and present findings with recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor accuracy and completion of required documentation, ensuring adherence to timelines and audit standards
  • Other duties as assigned.
