About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. is looking for a Directional Drill Operator, responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment. As a Directional Drill Operator, you will be responsible to operate and maintain a Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, along with others not listed. The individual in this position is required to work at all times with safety in mind. Must be able to read, understand, and follow company policies and procedures related to safety, attend all scheduled safety meetings, as well as competent person training, MSHA, and OSHA.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience operating a directional drill (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch).
• Experience drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placement.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Familiarity with equipment, including routine service and maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Familiarity with Blue Stakes and the identification of marked utilities.
• Basic computer skills in order to develop and maintain bore logs.
• Great math skills.
• Organization of material and other resources is necessary to complete excavation requirements, which may include basic hand tools.
• Valid Utah Class A CDL License with no restrictions.
• Clean driving record.
• Pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, along with others not listed.
• Work at all times with safety in mind.
• Read, understand, and follow company policies and procedures related to safety.
• Attend all scheduled safety meetings, as well as competent person training, MSHA, and OSHA.
• Perform routine service and maintenance on equipment, including washing, checking fluids, tire pressures, and greasing.
• Ensure Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, etc.) are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe and secure manner.
• Develop and maintain bore logs.
• Organize material and other resources to complete excavation requirements.
• Perform other duties or work at other locations as assigned by manager.
