About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. is looking for a Directional Drill Operator responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment. As a Directional Drill Operator, you will be responsible to operate and maintain a Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, along with others not listed. The individual in this position is required to work at all times with safety in mind. Must be able to read, understand, and follow company policies and procedures related to safety, attend all scheduled safety meetings, as well as competent person training, MSHA, and OSHA.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience operating a directional drill (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch).
  • Experience drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities.
  • Knowledge of utility depths and placement.
  • General knowledge of construction practices.
  • Familiarity with Blue Stakes and the identification of marked utilities.
  • Basic computer skills in order to develop and maintain bore logs.
  • Great math skills.
  • Valid Utah Class A CDL License with no restrictions.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Pass a background check.

  • Familiarity with equipment, including routine service and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with equipment, including routine service and maintenance.
  • Service maintenance includes, but is not limited to washing, check fluids, tire pressures, grease, etc.
  • Respect the importance of ensuring Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, etc.); are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe and secure manner.
  • Develop and maintain bore logs.
  • Organization of material and other resources is necessary to complete excavation requirements, which may include basic hand tools.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by manager.
