About The Position

Wepoint is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial leader to head its Architecture & Excellence group. This role is responsible for the technological vision, software quality, and business development of the practice across the company. It combines technical leadership, architecture governance, software engineering excellence, and business impact. The practice areas include Architecture (solutions, software, cloud) and Excellence (automated QA, performance testing, security).

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of experience in architecture and software engineering, including 5+ years in managing technical leaders.
  • Expertise in solution architecture, application architecture, and cloud architecture.
  • Mastery of automated QA practices, performance testing, and application security.
  • Experience in business development, pre-sales, and writing technical proposals.
  • Recognized leadership, influence, and strategic vision.
  • Experience in developing technical teams' skills.
  • Ability to lead AI programs (GenAI, MLOps, responsible governance).
  • Excellent communication in French and English.
  • English is required, as the position involves communicating with clients and partners outside of Quebec.
  • Legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the P&L, including revenue, margin, resource allocation, and profitability of mandates. Establish KPIs for the practice and team.
  • Oversee team member assignments and optimize time between mandates.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for Architecture and Excellence issues and ensure client satisfaction (internal & external) for the unit's mandates.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership on data architecture, security, enterprise architecture, and SAP and Salesforce solutions.
  • Define and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Establish architecture standards and ensure governance (reviews, strategic decisions).
  • Lead transformation initiatives, including AI integration and platform modernization.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of senior architects (solution, application, cloud) and automated testing experts, and collaborate with architects from other practices (Data, Security, etc.).
  • Be responsible for team skill development: design and implement training, mentoring, and professional development programs to enhance collective expertise.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Design and deploy a test automation strategy (UI, API, contract, E2E) integrated into CI/CD.
  • Industrialize performance and load testing (k6, JMeter, Gatling) and optimize scalability.
  • Collaborate on implementing DevSecOps practices (SAST/DAST, SBOM, threat modeling) and ensure compliance.
  • Be a leader in business development: define, structure, and promote the architecture service offering to clients and partners.
  • Design and present service offerings (technological discovery, modernization strategy, AI, obsolescence).
  • Mentor the team in participating in commercial proposals and cost estimation, and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Influence clients, sell strategic mandates, and ensure P&L growth.
  • Represent the company in conferences and events.
