To support its strong growth in Quebec, Parsons is looking for a Principal Project Director - Bridges and Tunnels to join our expertise team in the Montreal or Quebec City office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (specialization in structures – Bridges and Civil Engineering Works).
  • 20+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager or Project Management.
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Excellent aptitude in business development and client relationship management, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and negotiating mandates in bridges, tunnels, and civil engineering works.
  • Solid experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large or complex programs, with full responsibility for budget, schedule, quality, and commercial performance.
  • Knowledge of bridge standards (including CAN/CSA-S6 standard) and structural analysis software (SAP, CSiBridge, ADA, etc.).
  • Proficiency in French is required for positions permanently located in Quebec to communicate with colleagues and partners in Quebec.
  • Proficiency in English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, clients, and partners (or suppliers) located outside of Quebec, and to understand technical and scientific documentation available in the field of our industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications from MTMD (design, inspection, maintenance, construction, and repair of structures, etc.) are an asset.
  • Master's or PhD in structures is considered a strong asset.
  • Project management training (Master's, PMP, etc.) is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Principal Project Director on bridge and tunnel mandates, ensuring technical excellence and quality of deliverables.
  • Manage, coach, mobilize, and inspire team members to deliver high-quality services and innovative solutions to complex design and rehabilitation challenges for bridges and tunnels, involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead and supervise the preparation of studies, technical reports, design documents, and other client-facing documents, ensuring the quality and compliance of deliverables.
  • Ensure effective management of day-to-day project operations (planning, task assignment, monitoring, and work review) to achieve scope, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Actively contribute to business development activities in the field of bridges and tunnels and take a leadership role in identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and presenting to clients.
  • Act as Parsons' representative with clients and certain subcontractors during the execution of bridge and tunnel projects.
  • Participate, as needed, in negotiations with regulatory bodies and in public meetings in support of clients for bridge and tunnel projects.
  • Collaborate with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads (structure, geotechnical, transportation, etc.) to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various project components.
  • Assume any other responsibilities related to the position, as needed and according to the evolution of the bridge and tunnel project portfolio.
