About The Position

Toromont Cat is seeking a Director, Brand and Marketing Strategy. Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Brand and Marketing Strategy at Toromont plays a key role in defining and implementing the company's brand and marketing communication strategy. In this capacity, they act as a strategic partner to each business unit, providing guidance on Go-to-Market (GTM) approaches and leading the development, execution, and improvement of communication strategies. Success in this role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a collaborative approach. The Director is results-oriented and constantly strives to meet and exceed objectives by mobilizing teams around common goals, maintaining a strong customer focus, and effectively managing a team of marketing specialists, market analysts, and agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Over 10 years of experience in branding, communications, and leadership roles (managing teams, agencies, or cross-functional projects)
  • Experience in B2B and in a multi-divisional environment
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Decision-making and prioritization abilities
  • Team development and coaching
  • Bilingualism (French, English)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines for Toromont and its divisions, ensuring a consistent identity, clear values, and strong positioning across all customer interactions and channels, in line with Caterpillar brand guidelines.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to inform strategy and identify new opportunities, leveraging qualitative and quantitative research, industry trend analysis, competitor activities, customer preferences, Voice of Customer (VOC), and emerging trends.
  • Develop and ensure the execution of comprehensive multi-channel communication strategies to enhance brand value awareness, maximize reach and conversion, in collaboration with the corporate marketing team and division marketing managers.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to optimize internal communication channels and strengthen the employer brand by developing and deploying effective internal communication strategies and engaging content that fosters employee pride and organizational engagement.
  • Develop and implement robust customer experience (CX) measurement frameworks and processes to improve the customer journey, working closely with operational teams to ensure an experience that meets expectations and target audience needs.
  • Manage and coordinate a comprehensive calendar of marketing initiatives across all channels, aligning these actions with each division based on target customer segments and Caterpillar's communication initiatives.
