About The Position

Cogeco Media is looking for a General Manager and Programming Director for its Saguenay Lac St-Jean market. Cogeco is seeking a positive and dynamic leader for the CKYK 95.7, Rythme 98.3 stations in Saguenay and the Planète stations in Lac St-Jean. Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in radio media (an asset).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Saguenay Lac St-Jean market.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change.
  • Experience in coaching and problem-solving.
  • Strong and inspiring leadership.
  • Marked aptitude for human relations.
  • Mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Recognized experience in human resources management.
  • Ability to manage stress and priorities in a highly competitive environment.
  • Developed strategic thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent knowledge of radio media (minimum 3-5 years, an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the station's business plan in line with Cogeco Media's mission.
  • Ensure the sound management and financial performance of the stations under their responsibility.
  • Create a competitive and attractive programming schedule to achieve the highest content production standards.
  • Actively support the sales team in collaboration with the director to optimize sales.
  • Have a good knowledge of regional news and journalistic work.
  • Ensure compliance with the stations' regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Perform quality control of content/shows and provide feedback to the teams.
  • Represent the station to local partners and institutions.
  • Ensure the station's alignment with the network's direction.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with other markets.
  • Mobilize the team around common objectives in a motivating work environment.
  • Participate in the marketing and promotion plan for the airwaves.
  • Develop concrete actions to maintain and increase audience.
  • Good knowledge of the digital world and its challenges.
  • Negotiate on-air talent contracts.
  • Ensure the management, coaching, and training of their teams.
