Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
  • 15 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Relevant experience in the construction of maritime projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project software.
  • Bilingualism (significant asset).

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development of maritime expertise and identify business opportunities aligned with the organization's strategic planning.
  • Prepare bids and execute maritime works projects (docks, jetties, breakwaters, riprap, dredging, cofferdams, submerged structures, etc.).
  • Lead Directors, Project Managers, and Superintendents, and ensure that work carried out on construction sites meets standards, contractual requirements, and quality, safety, environmental, schedule, and cost objectives, by implementing necessary corrective measures.
  • Support teams in the design of permanent maritime structures under various contractual models, in close collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Supervise, coach, and optimize work methods and execution of maritime works, both on their own projects and on other mandates requiring this expertise within the organization.
  • Negotiate agreements with specialized subcontractors (maritime, dredging, divers, floating equipment, etc.), sign letters of intent after discussion with the Vice-President, review agreements, and authorize them in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist the Vice-President in negotiating contractual terms with clients, particularly concerning the technical, environmental, and operational risks of maritime projects.
  • Analyze monthly, with the Project Managers under their responsibility, cost control and project progress reports, and report to the Vice-President.
  • Assign personnel to sites and ensure efficient management of human resource productivity, including specialized maritime works teams and aquatic environment operations.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by overseeing compliance with safety, cost, schedule, quality, and environmental protection requirements.
  • Ensure rigorous application of the company's health and safety manual and prevention programs specific to marine environment work.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements specific to maritime works (port authorities, ministries, environmental permits, navigation, etc.).
  • Apply the company's quality system in accordance with ISO standards and ensure procedural follow-up with execution teams.
  • Be responsible for site kickoff meetings, periodic follow-up meetings, planning reviews, post-mortem meetings, and lessons learned.
  • Discuss legal matters, claims, or disputes related to projects with the Vice-President and ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Evaluate personnel under their responsibility according to company policies and actively contribute to their professional development.
  • Perform any other related tasks required for the execution of their mandate.
