About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with over 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions for OEM and end-user needs in lighting, optics, detection, and imaging across biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer, science, security, defense, and aerospace sectors. We are currently seeking a Process Director to lead a group responsible for supporting manufacturing and assembly processes, industrializing products, and driving innovation.

Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering and excellent skills in semiconductor physics. A Bachelor's degree is acceptable if the candidate possesses at least five (5) additional years of relevant experience.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the manufacturing or assembly of Silicon or IIIV devices.
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Basic knowledge of the physics of sensors and emitters manufactured on silicon or IIIV materials.
Six Sigma certification, Green Belt essential (Black Belt training or certification is an asset).
Training, knowledge, and experience in project management.
Perfect command of French (written and spoken) and good communication skills in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

Enforce occupational health and safety measures.
Lead and ensure the performance of a team of specialized scientists/engineers and technicians.
Organize available resources and plan for future needs.
Develop strategies to maintain healthy working relationships and a work environment that fosters respect, teamwork, and performance.
Promote collaboration between different groups.

Monitor production yields, propose, and follow up on projects to improve these yields.
Ensure project deadlines are met while managing daily emergencies.
Define, monitor daily, and advance Key Performance Indicators related to the team's operation.
Report to Management and the Corporation.
Utilize Six Sigma methodology in all activities and those of the group, and promote this method.
Work closely with various stakeholders to evaluate investments to be retained to support company growth.
Prepare necessary justifications to obtain approval for financing and purchases of new equipment. Monitor the activation of investments.
Aim to achieve financial objectives by developing budgets and controlling costs.
Perform other related tasks as needed.
