About The Position

Advocates is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated team player to provide meaningful support to adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This entry-level role provides hands-on support, guidance, and encouragement while helping individuals build skills and independence. The position involves assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meals, routines, and community outings, and building lasting relationships with the people supported. The listed schedule is Saturday 3 p.m.–11 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3 p.m.–11 p.m. The starting rate is $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, person-centered environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to transport individuals.
• Commitment to supporting culturally diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support at home and in the community.
• Help plan and implement daily routines and activities.
• Support individuals in setting and achieving person-centered goals.
• Encourage participation in community and social opportunities.
• Support household cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Document observations, progress, and concerns.
• Implement established treatment and support plans.
• Provide physical intervention in crisis situations when necessary.
• Maintain required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, MAP, SOLVE, and HR/DPPC.
• Ensure individuals are treated with dignity and respect and in alignment with Human Rights policies.
