This is a part-time position in Syracuse, NY, seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a 45-year-old female. The role involves helping her maintain a clean and safe home, explore resources for a healthy lifestyle, and increase her independence. Her interests include shopping, socializing, taking walks in community parks, coloring, bingo, and a coloring club. Assistance is needed with scheduling cab rides, receiving appointment reminders, and returning to GED classes. Staff will encourage her to explore community activities and may need to assist with making calls, scheduling appointments, finding apartments, and contacting potential landlords. The ideal candidate should be engaging, patient, creative, and willing to promote positive community involvement.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
