Direct Support Professional - OMH - Full Time - Evenings
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Residential, OMH program, you support people with mental health needs in agency residences. You assist, instruct, and encourage individuals to live as independently as possible while promoting their health, safety, and well-being and building positive, meaningful relationships. You advocate for individuals’ wants and needs and support their integration into the community for recreation. Duties also include light housekeeping, helping individuals plan nutritious meals, administering medications as needed, and participating in regularly scheduled training to enhance the skills and knowledge needed to support individuals.
Requirements
- Ability to perform all job functions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Be a positive role model for people with disabilities and other staff.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy.
