About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is hiring a Residential Direct Support Professional to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Rochester, NY. The role focuses on fostering independence, dignity, and respect through assistance with daily living, individualized supports, health and safety, and community participation. No prior experience is required. The listed schedule is 36 hours per week: Monday and Tuesday from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m., Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting pay is $21.55 per hour, plus a weekend shift differential.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required.
• Must meet Lifetime Assistance’s Vehicle Operator requirements, except for overnight or relief shifts.
• First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certifications, or the ability to obtain them.
• Must pass required background checks and clearances, including SCR, Fingerprinting, SEL, and MHL.
• Ability to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
• Dependable, friendly, caring, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks such as thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Promote individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, including administering medication if certified.
• Implement individualized service plans and daily supports, and document progress.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive agency vehicles for transportation as needed.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
