About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional for Residential Services in Rochester, New York. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in fostering independence, dignity, and respect. This position is 24 hours per week: Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting wage is $21.55 per hour, plus a $0.75 weekend shift differential, for $22.30 per hour on weekend shifts. The position reports to the Residential Manager.

Requirements

• Meet Lifetime Assistance’s Vehicle Operator requirements, except for overnight or relief shifts.
• Have First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certification, or be able to obtain them.
• Pass all required background checks and clearances, such as SCR, Fingerprinting, SEL, and MHL.
• Be able to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Have basic computer literacy for documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Have clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and adaptability.
• No prior experience is required; candidates should be dependable, friendly, caring, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks such as thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Ensure individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, including administering medication if certified.
• Implement individualized service plans and daily supports, and document progress.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive agency vehicles for transportation as needed.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
