About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver to provide person-centered support to individuals with mental, intellectual and developmental, and physical disabilities. The role focuses on empowering individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while preserving their dignity and respect.

The DSP provides hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance; supports individuals’ comfort, safety, and personal growth; assists with daily living activities; and performs housekeeping and laundry duties. The schedule is weekends, and the wage is $15.75 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license required because the role involves transporting individuals served.
• Must be comfortable driving to transport individuals served as required.
• Some positions or locations may require a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.
• Person-centered, patient, and kind.
• Dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Observant and detail-oriented.
• Able to serve as a positive role model and work on a team.
• Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Successful background clearance required as part of onboarding/employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to individuals served.
• Support the comfort, safety, and personal growth of individuals served.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Transport individuals served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
