Direct Support Professional (On Call)
About The Position
Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for its program in Elk Grove, California. DSPs support individuals with developmental disabilities in settings that may include the community, family or individual homes, generic community settings, and Adult Training Facilities. The role involves providing direct care and implementing behavior plans, while enhancing each individual's health, safety, dignity, and contentment. DSPs assist and train individuals in personal care, communication, and social skill development. The schedule is PRN only. Pay is $24.00–$26.00 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $26 per hour after obtaining RBT certification. Merakey provides access to training and support for required certifications.
Requirements
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on behavioral services.
- Must have an RBT, LPT, or QBMP credential, or become an RBT within 12 months of initial employment.
- DSP 1 and DSP 2 certifications are required within 12 months of hire.
- RBT certification is required within 12 months of hire, unless exempt.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, speak, write, and comprehend English.
- Desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
- Complete PPD testing and a physical examination upon hire and at least every two years thereafter, if required.
