The Direct Support Professional (DSP) advocates for and supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be active in their lives. This role acts as a caregiver within a group home, assisting with daily living activities, community integration, medical appointments, and medication administration. DSPs receive paid training including New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person-specific training. DSPs must maintain certifications and comply with Agency policies and DDS regulations.
