About The Position
Our In-Home Support Specialists are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of the people we support. This is a part-time position with a schedule of Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, located in Norwich, CT. The role involves supporting individuals in their daily activities, personal care, community involvement, and therapeutic plans.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health
- Valid driver’s license required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license, privately owned vehicle, and evidence of insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Daily activities such as meal preparation and planning
- Personal care
- Facilitating community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community
- Providing transportation to recreational and community activities
- Supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans
