About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports people with disabilities in a residential setting, helping them live full, independent lives. The role includes assistance with daily living and personal care, support with activities and community outings, and help building skills while promoting independence and dignity. The position is assigned to the Spartanburg, South Carolina location, but employees may be required to work at other Charles Lea Center sites based on staffing and operational needs. Overnight and weekend availability is essential. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM–9:00 AM, and every other weekend, with Saturday and Sunday shifts from 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM until 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. Pay is $17.51 per hour, plus shift differential for weekday and weekend hours. The position offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments, paid training, growth opportunities, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, sick leave, tuition reimbursement, and a free onsite wellness clinic.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a valid driver’s license and Social Security number.
Have basic computer and documentation skills.
Be able to pass required background and reference checks.
Be able to regularly stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and provide hands-on support.
Be available to work overnight and weekend hours.

Nice To Haves

Two to four years of relevant experience is preferred, such as DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, or caregiver experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
Promote independence and dignity in every interaction.
Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.
Follow safety, infection control, and agency policies.
Maintain professionalism, teamwork, and positive interactions.
