About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate, individualized care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-like setting and in clients’ homes. The role supports clients’ dignity, privacy, independence, health, and participation in community activities.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass a background check.
• Have a driver's license and valid auto insurance.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification, or provide a high school diploma/transcript or GED diploma and at least six months of experience providing behavioral health-related services to individuals with I/DD, or documented experience providing specific supports to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
• Perform medical monitoring and health care-related tasks.
• Foster positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
• Encourage self-help activities.
• Implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
• Manage behaviors through prevention or de-escalation of aggression.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of activities, fire and disaster drills, behavior support plans, medications, goals, and data tracking.
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
• Transport clients or run errands for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
