About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Residential Services supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. The role assists with daily needs, teaches life skills, encourages independence, and promotes a safe and meaningful home life. It is an entry-level position with training provided, scheduled for 40 hours per week in Lewistown.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver's license and at least 6 months of driving experience.
• Have access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection.
• Be able to communicate, read, write, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Direct Care Worker.
• Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
• Teach and support life skills that help individuals pursue personal goals and build independence and confidence.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships through effective communication.
• Follow individualized support plans and document progress.
• Assist with health and safety needs, including medication support and monitoring.
• Promote meaningful activities, community involvement, and strong social connections.
