About The Position

SPIN is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, professional support to people with behavioral health needs. The role focuses on helping individuals achieve personal goals and improve their quality of life while working with a team of professionals to provide a high standard of care. The position requires a commitment to excellence and an interest in helping others. The schedule is 40 hours weekly: Sunday 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and Monday through Thursday 4 p.m.–12 a.m. Benefits begin after completion of training. The required training program lasts 2.5 weeks, is hourly paid, and runs from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Driver's license and at least one year of driving experience.
• Availability to attend the 2.5-week hourly paid training program, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Work experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and positive behavioral support approaches.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with behavioral health needs.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and improving their quality of life.
• Collaborate with professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment.
• Provide care in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
• Build relationships with the people supported and their families.
