Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Family Support Services - Part Time
About The Position
The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, North Dakota, is seeking part-time Direct Support Professionals to join its Family Support Services team. DSPs provide active support to individuals in their family homes and/or in the community. Areas of support include health maintenance, medication administration, personal care, behavior management, and life-skills development. The role supports children and adults with disabilities and mental illness in home, community, and social settings. The position offers less than 30 hours per week, with a variety of morning, late-afternoon, evening, and weekend hours available. Shift lengths vary. Starting pay is $19.12, depending on experience (DOE). Paid training is offered.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Current driver's license.

- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Accompany individuals to community and social events.
- Assist individuals with personal care responsibilities, administer medications, and provide transportation based on individual needs.
- Supervise, teach independent skills, and provide guidance to children and adults with disabilities and mental illness in home, community, and social settings.
- Document individual information as required by the Person-Centered Service Plan.
- Maintain flexibility and composure while working alone or in a team environment.
- Complete the Certificate with ND Direct Care Careers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
