About The Position

People Creating Success (PCS) is seeking an Art & Pop Culture Enthusiast Direct Support Professional for their supported living service program for adults with developmental disabilities in Thousand Oaks. This role focuses on building genuine connections with participants and engaging in activities like art appreciation, vintage piece collecting, and discussing current pop culture. The position offers flexible shifts and opportunities to explore communities, enrich passions, and make a positive impact.

Requirements

Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset
Someone who has a warm, respectful, and professional demeanor
Someone who is capable of communication with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments
A valid driver’s license
Responsible, and can document goal progress tracking with detail

Nice To Haves

DSP 1 & 2 certification
CPR / First Aid certification
Weekend Availability

Responsibilities

Assist participant in connecting with their community and assist in building lasting relationships via providing transportation, participating in events, volunteering, and more
Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, budget management, and light household duties
Following care plans and helping participants achieve their personal goals
Encourage healthy habits, studies, hobbies, and social activities
Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)
Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant, staff and management
Document shift and communication logs
