About The Position
POW&R, Autism Delaware’s adult services program, is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a young woman in her home. Direct Support Professionals play an important role in helping individuals live as independently as possible while supporting them in their homes and within the community. We are currently hiring full-time, part-time, and per diem staff for all shifts.
Requirements
- Reliable personal transportation
- A valid driver’s license
- Proof of insurance
- A clean driving record
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate
- Comfortable providing hands-on support when needed
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible with scheduling based on program needs
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, or holidays when required
Nice To Haves
- Weekend and holiday availability is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assisting an individual with daily living activities
- Supporting community participation and outings
- Transporting the individual to appointments and community activities
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene
- Supporting meal preparation and household routines
- Monitoring health or medical concerns
- Supporting individuals who may display behavioral challenges
- Encouraging independence, communication, and life skills
