Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals in Philadelphia. The role is suited to people who want to make a long-term impact on consumers’ lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. Work takes place in a variety of settings and follows each individual’s Individual Support Plan. Support may include helping individuals develop social and communication skills during activities such as visits to parks and sensory gardens, assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living skills such as housekeeping and laundry to promote independence. Merakey is a nonprofit provider of developmental, behavioral health, and education services. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- A verifiable high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience in a home health aide setting or a school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
Responsibilities
