About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). In this rewarding role, you will support individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in a residential setting, helping them achieve greater independence while promoting their health, safety, dignity, and quality of life. Our mission is to achieve full societal participation for all people with disabilities.

Requirements

Be at least 20 years of age
Possess a High School Diploma or GED
Hold a valid driver's license
Successfully complete state and federal criminal background checks
Successfully complete drug screening
Successfully complete pre-employment physical and PPD/TB testing
Complete all required orientation and training programs

Responsibilities

Assisting with daily living activities such as cooking, housekeeping, and personal hygiene
Supporting health and wellness goals, including medication assistance and healthy lifestyle practices
Encouraging participation in community activities, recreation, shopping, and appointments
Promoting social interaction, communication skills, and positive coping strategies
Assisting with budgeting and money management skills
Encouraging independence, self-advocacy, dignity, and informed choice
Maintaining a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment
Completing required documentation and communicating effectively with team members
