About The Position

Chimes is a mission-driven nonprofit seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges. The DSP helps individuals live with dignity, independence, and confidence in a supportive, team-focused environment. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Silver Spring. Pay is $20.25 per hour. Some DSP roles require travel and providing support between residential and day programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds or more.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Meet one of the following driving-record requirements: at least three years of unsuspended driving history with no more than three points, or at least two years of unsuspended driving history with a clean driving record.

• Experience in disability services is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with kindness and respect.
• Assist with personal care and daily living skills, including dressing, toileting, hygiene, feeding, and bathing.
• Follow individualized care plans and document progress.
• Administer medications in accordance with policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Use approved behavior support techniques.
• Encourage community engagement and participation.
• For some roles, travel and provide support from residential to day programs.
