About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is hiring a Residential Direct Support Professional in Rochester, NY, to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on fostering independence, dignity, and respect while helping individuals with personal care, daily living activities, safety, and community participation.

This position is listed as part-time, with a schedule of Thursday and Friday, 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. It pays $21.55 per hour, plus a $0.50 weekend shift differential. Direct Support Professionals are eligible for a $1,000 welcome bonus. No prior experience is required; paid onboarding, coaching, and ongoing training are provided.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required.
• Must meet Lifetime Assistance’s Vehicle Operator requirements, except for overnight or relief shifts.
• Must have First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certifications, or be able to obtain them.
• Must pass required background checks and clearances, including SCR, fingerprinting, SEL, and MHL.
• Ability to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks such as thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Help ensure individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, including administering medication if certified.
• Implement individualized service plans and document progress and daily supports.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive an agency vehicle for transportation as needed.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
