Direct Support Professional PL-AM
About The Position
A 22-year-old man in the Liverpool, New York area is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one, part-time support. The role focuses on helping him develop safety skills and find activities that interest him, with the staff member participating alongside him. He spends much of his time at home with his dog, Coco, and enjoys camping, games, using his tablet, cooking, and live-action plays. The ideal candidate is creative, engaging, active, patient, and willing to travel to different locations. The position may involve providing personal care when needed, using verbal prompts. Work is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday, with flexible start and end times. Additional hours may be available supporting other people receiving services at the agency. Starting pay is $19.25 for Community Hab and increases with years of relevant experience.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid New York State driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
- Must be reliable and have effective communication and organizational skills.
- Must be flexible with assignments and schedule, and able to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
- No experience is required.
