About The Position

This is a crisis group home which is a short-term, highly supportive residential setting designed for children, teens, or adults who are experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or other crisis. The goal is stabilization — not long-term placement — so the person can return home or move to a more appropriate setting once the individual has stabilized and a plan is in place. The individuals we support in this setting are often highly behavioral, may be violent at times, display verbal aggression, and may elope. It is imperative that employees following our training, policies, and care plans to support individuals with these unique needs. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and physical disabilities. DSPs provide the support, encouragement, and guidance individuals need to live fulfilling lives, build independence, and participate in their communities. This Adult Crisis Group Home is a short-term, highly supportive residential setting designed for adults experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or mental health crisis. Unlike a traditional group home, the goal of this program is stabilization—not long-term placement. Our team provides intensive support to help each individual safely return home or transition to a more appropriate long-term setting once they have stabilized and an individualized plan is in place. DSPs support individuals in their homes and communities by helping them reach personal goals, maintain independence, and experience life to the fullest. DSPs may travel regularly within the community, support individuals both indoors and outdoors, and assist with physical activities such as walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving throughout the workday. Work in environments where individuals may experience emotional distress, behavioral challenges, or crisis situations. Be exposed to bodily fluids, odors, dust, infectious diseases, and other workplace conditions common in human services. Successful DSPs are comfortable problem-solving, staying calm under pressure, and supporting individuals through both successes and challenges. If you are looking for meaningful work where you can positively impact someone’s life, we encourage you to apply. Synova Group offers a competitive salary and a full list of benefits, including PTO, paid holidays, health, dental, life insurance, and disability insurance.
